Inti Hernandez

The Bakery is showing the series of sculptures Encounter places of Cuban artist Inti Hernandez (1976). These wooden scale models were designed for meeting places. Striking is the harmony manifested by the geometric forms thereof. Inti Hernandez investigates social structures with his work and the influence that architectural space exercises hereon. Besides his sculptures, he has made video work and installations that were presented in public places. Inti Hernandez graduated at the Higher Institute for the Arts in Havana and is currently following the residential program of the State Academy in Amsterdam. In 2004, he followed a residential program at Gasworks in London. He has participated in various exhibitions in Europe and South America.
