ArtBO Feria Internacional de Arte de Bogota

Annet Gelink Gallery is proud to announce its participation with artBO, the International Art Fair of Bogota. Together with Noguerras Blanchard we will present a booth with works by Yael Bartana, David Maljkovic and Wilfredo Prieto. 

 

The ninth version of artBO will take place from October 25th to October 28th, 2013 in an area that exceeds 13.000 m2 in the fair venue Corferias. Thanks to the continuous participation of foremost national and international galleries and to the promotion of young Colombian artists in Artecamara, artBO, the most important event for the visual arts in Colombia, has positioned itself as a meeting point par excellence of the art market in Latin America. 

 

This year artBO will continue to offer the best proposals of national and international art, while preserving the median size of the Fair guaranteeing its quality and facilitating the visit of all Galleries. Once more, artBO will have two curated sections: the Project Rooms single proposals of contemporary artists selected by José Roca and the Artecamara Pavilion a selection of promising emerging Colombian artists by Juan Sebastián Ramírez. Other spaces include the Academic Forum for conferences and presentations, the Cultural Encounter Pavilion for institutions and publications, and the Children´s Pavilion to bring youth closer to art. 

 

During the entire month of October, in partnership with several institutions, artBO will celebrate the ebullient creative scene of Bogota. artBO, International Art Fair of Bogota, is the meeting point par excellence art scene in Latin American art scene and the international art panorama. Each year, artBO summons national and international art galleries, curators, artists, collectors and general public around a commercial and cultural platform. For several years, with the aim of promoting the competitiveness of the city, the Bogota Chamber of Commerce (BCC) identified the cultural and creative industries as one of the strategic sectors with potential for the economic and social development of Colombia. Thus, BCC created an ambitious program to stimulate entrepreneurial development increasing circulation and demand. 

 

Today, artBO, Bogota’s International Art Fair, is one of those platforms that not only achieves a commercial objective, but also, promotes the talent, creativity, exchange and appreciation of art in the national and international art scene. Consequently, with the support of the public and private sectors, artBO has copnsolidated itself as the major showcase for visual arts in Colombia and important one for Latin America. 

 

In only eight versions, artBO has contributed to the international projection of the Colombian artistic vision and has engaged foreign artistic manifestations. More than 150.000 attendants, 140 galleries present, 1300 artists – 280 of them are young artists-, more than 150 art collectors and more than 5.000 art works, exhibited since their own creation, reaffirm the high impact that this cultural and commercial showcase has had.
