Maria Barnas

In Nachtboot (NL), questions are asked about the authenticity of the individual and his environment on the basis of art, the city and (cultivated) nature. In all her poems Barnas makes an attempt to describe and cause something truthful, aware of the fact that each description adds a new layer to the created world. As a result, the language functions in these poems as an instrument, in which there is always an unexpected turn that can only exist in the space of the poem. For Barnas every poem is a space that the reader can enter. Poems about living in different places, form experiments, sometimes multilingual but always lyrical, and sound and image rich.
