Minne Kersten at Bonnefanten Museum, Maastricht

Minne Kersten shows her latest multi-media installation The Same Room at the Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht, consisting of an installation, paintings, and a sculpture. Similar to her previous work, she explores how human emotions and traumas are interwoven with architectural spaces. In The Same Room, the emotional impact is depicted through water, as it shows a bedroom in which a flood has taken place. Here, Kersten focuses on the sense of calm during a disaster, which may be detached, political, ecological or else very personal. The room is quiet, but bears witness: something happened here.
