Oranjewoud is a classic idyll once landscaped by the Frisian Nassaus. For the group exhibition Paradys, Erik van Lieshout will create a flower mosaic. Such a mosaic is 'paradise', 'beauty' in the extreme, but the work would not be Erik van Lieshout if he did not give it a twist: after all, isn't such a mosaic also 'tourism at its most ludicrous'? Van Lieshout spent several months in Oranjewoud to develop the work especially for the place.
