The Australian artist Glenn Sorensen will have his works on view at Corvi-Mora Gallery in London, from October 31.
In his work Sorensen often exercises reduction making the works bordering the abstract. He is driven by a search for purity and essentiality. This search is reflected in his choice of subject: the objects, sceneries and people are represented with affectionate eye, recording his daily reality but carrying a deeper meaning. The urgency in which they are painted tells us that they have a specific enigmatic importance. Despite the attention to detail, the paintings of Glenn Sorensen conceal more than they show.
