The new version of Meiro Koizumi's “Battlelands,” a 58-minute single-channel film installation, makes its US debut at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The exhibition is on view through April 28, 2019. In this popular video work “Battlelands,” Koizumi explores military conflicts and the impact of body-cams, and articulates how difficult memories of war continually mix with daily life for these individuals, creating an emotional and psychological battle. This updated version, originally commissioned by the Perez Art Museum Miami, includes clips of additional interviewees.
