"There is nothing wrong with love."

German artist Friedrich Kunath (b. 1974, Chemnitz) translates the language of love and failure into an intruiging body of work. Quoting lyrics and using own texts in his drawings, prints and videos, Kunath evokes a sense of tragical comedy. In the Bakery Kunath presents his first videowork After a while you know the style (2000) wherein the artist is portrayed in a repeating act of dropping himself on the street in front of unsuspecting passers-by to an early song of Oasis. The combination of melancholic text and image is also present in his collage pieces and the silk screen print of a departing plane. On flying, the fate of a bird and the transformation of a tablecloth.
