A mirror finish, A1 size steel plate in which a typographical composition written by the artist has been laser etched into the surface.

There have been about 10 ‘Hard Compositions’ made so far but in varying compositions — some A3, A2, A1, A0 and some as a series like 4 panels. The size and scale is dependant on the text and illustrations. Gander formally started making these in 2021 but has been writing ‘concrete poetry’ which is what features on these plates across his whole practise as an artist. His concrete poetry is found across several works but most notably on his flip dot series where a text featuring a specific topic accompanies the work or his work Staccato Reflections (2017).
