In her work, Lara Schnitger takes a stance against a patriarchal society, with all its implications for women and their (self-)perception. Balancing between the literal and figurative, art and protest, she uses sharp irony to evoke women’s stereotypes through explicit figures and images. In this work, Schnitger reflects on a disturbed beauty culture and playfully promotes sisterhood and the variety of shapes that make up women’s bodies.
