During his studies Paijmans exchanged the paintbrush for needle and thread. In his work, he investigates the visual qualities and principles that underlie our consumer culture: labor, production, and distribution. Through an endless, repetitive process of drawing, cutting, sewing, painting, gluing, folding, ironing and cleaning, he assumes the roles of sweatshop producer, client and manager to explore the boundaries between original and copy.
