'Capitals' is a serie of 23 split screen prints in which Johannes Schwartz has captured moments and details of different capital cities that may pass unnoticed. He focused his gaze on unusual aspects of the physical landscape, proposing further meanings from the mutual interaction between the coupled images: on some we could easily find the contiguity between the two with a "reinforcing" effect, other times instead, they seem distant, to the point of forcing us to wander about the reasons that could have led to the association. In his survey Schwartz recreates a personal path that reads the stratification of stories, people, of individual and collective habits, away from easy conventions.
