In Hands Act Antonis Pittas combines imagery of hands by Bauhaus architect Herbert Bayer with newspaper photographs of tie-wrapped doctors who, in accordance with the oath they took, helped injured protesters in Istanbul. With the photos Pittas creates a work that shows the limitation of freedom and the failure of early modernist ideologies of a better world. Pittas photographed his own fingers tied together showing that also the expression of the artists are also limited.
