This photograph is published in Ed van der Elsken’s ‘Once Upon a Time’ (1992). Van der Elsken wrote the following about this photograph: 'Ata's daughters went to ballet lessons at the professional Studios Wacker. I often went with them. I discovered years later that one of the dancers I'd shot there was Brigitte Bardot. At the time this picture was taken she hadn't been discovered'. This the authoritative overview catalog of Ed van der Elsken’s oeuvre, which he worked on until shortly before his death on 28 December, 1990. It also serves as a comprehensive bibliography and reference catalog for all his films, books, publications and exhibitions. The book, which was carefully beautifully designed and printed, was produced as a companion publication accompanying an extensive travelling overview exhibition of his work.
