Literature

2013, "Passagierstoel- Tekeningen", Dag in Dag

As a rule, most of the "Dibujos Pasajeros" are realized in mid-air. Dibujos Pasajeros have been published in the Dutch national newspaper "De Volkskrant" in 2013, in July, August and September every Wedneday another drawing was published as part of the page "Dag in, Dag uit". Dick Verdult wrote the following about his "Dibujos Pasajeros" in a letter to Mexican artist Carlos Amorales: ...That series, the "Pasajero" drawings (Dibujos Pasajeros), is the one I started on the plane, to fight against the videos they show. I made these drawings that, on the one hand, unconsciously reflect what I'm seeing, appreciating, or suffering and, on the other, include the thinking that next to me there is a passenger, 30 cm away, trying not to see what I'm drawing! That side is the treasure! (I can already see your smile)... From: Van Abbemuseum catalogue, "Dick Verdult...and on Sundays we celebrate Friday", Eindhoven, 2011
