The untitled dirt drawings are made using dirth (earth, sand etcetera). The dirt was collected from the road trip Gallaccio made several years ago. She drove through the desert landscape of various locations in Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Sedona in Arizona and a meteor crater in Arizona.

Using traditional decorative marbling techniques (techniques used for marbling paper) , the artist has substituted the acrylic or oil paints that are usually used for dirt and watercolors made only from real minerals.

Gallaccio likes the absurdity of this marbling process. She can try and make a composition, but ultimately it is chance that decides the outcome.
