In the Sexpaintings by Roger Hiorns (1975, Birmingham, United Kingdom), disembodied figures appear to be floating into a dark background. Here, Hiorns proposes a reflection on the ambiguity and fluidity characterising our contemporary conception of sexuality. The work engages with its audience and seeks for inner reflection one’s own perception of the body and physicality.
