With 'Spoiler' (2013) Verdult plays with language. The title refers first of all to the form of the work, which is that of a spoiler: a car part meant to improve the aerodynamics of the car. But the title could also be related to the depiction on the work, in which case 'spoiler' would refer to the act of revealing a secret or an action which nullifies the upcoming event.
The depiction shows two fires each holding a fire extinguisher pointed at the other.
